How can I tell if my cat is healthy?

There are many ways to tell if your cat is really healthy. It's obvious the first one is the eyes: they should be clear and free from any kind of discharge. Look at the coat: it shouldn't look dull and matted. Check out the ears: take a whiff. If it smells, your cat might have some problems there, or a little build-up of nasties inside there. You know what? It's a good habit to get into to give your cat kind of head-to-tail checkup every day or every other day. Feel around for any kind of suspicious lumps or bumps. Check out the teeth: the gums should be pink. You should be able to touch your finger against their gum and that color should be pink in an instant, right back. Make sure there's no doggy breath, if you will, coming out of the cat's mouth. These are ways that you can be a good caretaker for your cat, and be able to catch anything early and report it to your vet, so you can take care of it quicker before it becomes a real major problem.
