How can I tell if my employer is monitoring me?

In terms of telling whether your employer is monitoring you, there's no real sure fire way to tell other than you can ask and hopefully they're honest with you or maybe pay attention to little nuances about things they know that they shouldn't. I've personally experienced this in the workplace where I've had a manager, in a round about way, confront me about something that they'd have no way of knowing unless they had been reading my email. And from that point on, I knew clearly they monitored our email entirely. But, in most workplaces you don't have the authorization to install software on a machine so any type of anti-monitoring software, that's not going to be a solution for you because you can't install it. So, ask, judge the nature of your employer. I think sometimes it's easy to tell this is someone who would do that versus someone who wouldn't. Or like I said, ask, maybe they'll tell you. Or, assume they would and just don't use corporate company email to say anything important or sensitive.
