You will reach a point when you write a book when you can't see it any more, you can't see its faults, you can't see its qualities. And it is very good then to show it to someone. If you are in a writer's group, that group can give you feedback that is quite valuable. So you will actually need to find a reader for what you've done. And then you might find after that reading you have more things to do, that the book is not there yet.
