Many adoptive people do actually tell their adoptive parents, because they feel that it is better to be open and to let them know what they are doing. Some adoptive people feel they are not able to tell and will wait until they've got information, and some will even wait until they have the reunion with the birth parents or birth mother to then decide whether or not they are going to tell them.
