Hopefully, parents will point out that just about anything their kids see on television is not to be believed. And as long as that is kind of the general rule-- that it's all make-believe, including the media, including the news, as there's a lot of selection of things to report on and not report on. And as long as the kids understand that mom and dad are the way to find out what's really going on, and when mom and dad tell you "don't touch the gun and leave it where it is, and you would only touch it if we're not here and you had to use it to protect yourself and your brothers and sisters."
