How do I trade-in my used car to a dealership?
When you're going to buy a new vehicle a big consideration is what do I do with my old vehicle and there's two ways to handle it you can either sell it privately or you can just allow the dealer that you're going to be buying the new vehicle from to take it as a trade. And this a tried and true method been used by the automotive industry for many, many, many years. The downside of it is that the dealer will not provide you with the very most value for your vehicle for two reasons. Number one if they keep the vehicle at the dealership they're going to then take it and want to make a profit on it when they sell it as a used car so they're going to want to build that margin as wide as possible from the very start. The other side of it that if they're not going to be selling it there at their dealership they're going to wholesale it off somewhere so they want to make sure that they're investment in the vehicle as low as possible. Now the positive side of it is that it allows you to just kiss the car goodbye the value of that vehicle just gets washed into your new financing it's very clean let's empty out the trunk and empty the car out put it all in your new car and you never see the old car again.
