How To Train For A Competitive Eating Contest
Arnie "Chowhound" Chapman (Competitive Eater) gives expert video advice on: How do you train for a competitive eating contest?
How do you train for a competitive eating contest?
First of all, I'm not an advocate of folks training, all right? One of the things that we do at the Association of Independent Competitive Eaters is we keep contests to seven or eight minutes. Our belief is that if you're a good eater, you don't have to do any special training. All you have to do is just bring your appetite, maybe miss one or two meals and that's all you need to do. I'm not an advocate of a person training. I am an advocate of that person figuring out the food they're going to deal with. They don't have to eat a ton of it but just kind of get their technique whether it's pie, pickles, hot dogs or whatever the food is and whatever the rules in terms of how you have to eat that food. In terms of how I eat and the way I'd like to eat and what I think is the most respectful way to eat, is picking a style of rules.
