You can travel for less as a student on the London Underground. If you're studying in London, you may be able to get a discount if you apply for a special student photo card. Ask at booking offices for details, or go on the Internet. You must buy an adult ticket if you're 18 years old and over, but you can pay a lower fare if you're aged between 5 and 15. You'll also need a special under-16 oyster photo card for which there's a small charge. There's also a special fare if you're age 16 to 17, and you'll need the age 16 to 17 oyster photo card for that. Children under five can travel free. However, if you're travelling as a family, always get a family travel card because, in fact, that's cheaper for the whole family. Up to four children under 11-years-old can travel free with an adult on the Tube and Docklands Light Railway weekdays after 9:30, all day weekends, and public holidays.
