What do I do if my creditdebit card is lost or stolen?

The first thing to do if your credit or debit card is lost or stolen is to immediately notify your bank, because they can then put a stop on that card which will stop anybody from using it. They will then arrange for a new credit or debit card to be sent to you through the post.

Can I get my money back if someone steals it from my account?

If you are a victim of fraud, the bank will reimburse you for any money that is stolen from your account. However, if you were responsible for someone stealing from your account -if you've told them your PIN numbers or your passwords for internet banking - the bank won't reimburse you for those losses.

What is card cloning?

Card cloning is when an illegal copy of your debit card or credit card is made by somebody else. You'll hand your card over and a fraudster can skim that card, take the data from it and put those on to a blank card. That could happen anywhere you hand your card over: in a restaurant, a shop, a pub or in a service station.
