What is a clitoral hood reduction?
We don't do clitoral hood reductions. What we will do is reduce the excess skin along the side of the clitoris. Actually what we have found, I know what women want, and what we have found, women want the skin of the clitoris to hug it as if a piece of paper was draped tightly over a pencil. So they don't want all that excess skin and a vast majority of the women who have laser reduction laserplasty of the labia minori will have the reduction of the excess skin around the clitoris.
What is vulvar liposculpting?
Vulvar liposculpting, what we do, patients will literally come in with a large monus pubis. And it always extends down into the labia majora, the large outer lips. And they want this reduced. Women actually come in and say look doctor. It looks like I have a penis is my pants. I want this reduced. So we can do it. Patients who have had a tummy tuck, we can see a lot of times where they had that fat tummy, that is gone, reduced from the tummy tuck. But they have this fat monus pupis and they will come in for us to sculpture that down. So their concerned about aesthetics. They are concerned and they want that enhanced. And we can do it with lipo-sculpting of the monus pubis.
Why would you want your labias to be smaller?
it's a personal preferance; what the woman wants, what she wants. Why do you want your breasts bigger? Why do you want your breasts larger? Why do you want liposuction? Why do you want a tummy tuck? So it's a personal preferance. It's a preferance of what someone wants, it's really no different. So, basically what I see, and what they're saying: "Hey, look, look." I mean, if you see what I see, you can understand those things. And some of them, it's just a little minor aesthetic things. But women want, they want to look pretty in that area. That's what they want.
Do large labias restrict physical movement?
Some women will come in, and I had a couple women who came in, and they will horce trainers. And they would say, doctor when I am on the saddle or in the saddle all day, the labia hurts.They are too long. So they want them sculptured down. So I hear some things like that. Basically the patients are coming in because of aesthetics.
