Who are candidates for laser vaginal rejuvenation?
We want patients to come in under their own volition. My age group of patients in my practice are twenties to forties. Those are patients who are coming in, requesting those particular procedures. We want the patient to be realistic. We want the patient to be practical. Realistic, and completely understand these particular procedures, and want these procedures for herself. It's not for someone who has a sexual dysfunction. It's not for someone who's being pushed by someone else to have the procedure. Okay, it's very important. They have to say, "Hey, doctor, I'm mature, I want this procedure, I want this procedure for me."
Who is turned down for laser vaginal rejuvenation?
Our patient, the age ranges of our patients are twenties to forties. These particular procedures are for normally sexually functioning women. If a patient has a sexual dysfunction we're not going to do it. If a patient is pushed by a husband or a partner we're not going to do it. We want the woman to come in on her own volition and request these procedures, that's very very important. If a patient has a psychological dysfunction or a psychological problem we're not going to do it. If a patient is unrealistic, a patient came in, she looked like Arnold Schwarzenegger, she said, "doctor, I don't want my man to think I'm taking steroids, can you reduce my clitoris?" I said, "no, we can't reduce that", the patient said, "doctor please reduce it, I don't want him to think I'm taking steroids." I'm yelling in my mind, "you are on steroids, you are taking steroids, look at you, no, it's unrealistic, we can't do it, we won't do it."
What if a candidate for vaginal rejuvenation is psychologically unstable?
Some psychologically things that will cause, we really screen the patient, we really screen the patient. It is very important that the patient is psychologically sound. If the patient come in and she says 'Doctor I want my lieba to reduce, I look and said the libia look great, look fine and you know you don't need a reducer, you fine. Patient says No, No I really want the reducer. No you don't need that. She says 'Can I talk with you in your counsel room. Look if you don't do this I am going outside'. She is psychologically imbalance. No this is not for you, you need help, I will call the family, talk with the family, tell them no we not going to do it. So it is important that everyone is psychologically sound who is requesting these procedures. Who wants these procedures.
What kind of women get laser vaginal rejuvenation?
My patients are from all walks of life. Doctors, lawyers, nurses, professionals, business people, dignitaries, and family members from heads of state. So, all across the board.
Can laser vaginal rejuvenation help my self-esteem?
I would say what we see is patients coming in and saying that "This will boost my self-esteem, boost my self-confidence. I don't want to be nude around my husband. I want the lights out." Things like that. "I don't want to have oral sex. I'm embarrassed about having oral sex," because of the vulvae structure, of the labia. They want them sculptured down. So we can do that, and we really see, in the letters and notes and the things that we get from the patients, it really does enhance those things, enhance self-esteem, enhances their self-confidence in themselves.
