What is 'Major League Baseball'?

Major League Baseball is a term that covers both the American and National Leagues. It is the highest level of baseball that we play in America.

How many franchises are there in Major League Baseball?

There are 30 franchises in Major League Baseball.

What is the 'National League' in the Major Leagues?

The National League is the oldest of the two Major Leagues. It began in 1876 and is considered the senior league.

What is the 'American League' in the Major Leagues?

The American League is the other of the two major leagues. It began in 1901.

How many divisions are there in the American and National Leagues?

Both the American and National Leagues each have three division: the East, West and Central.

The National League East is comprised of the Atlanta Braves, the Florida Marlins, the New York Mets, the Philadelphia Phillies, and the Washington Nationals.
