Why is fast food considered so unhealthful for people over 35?
Fast food is considered unhealthy because there's so little nutritional value to most of the food that's served in most of the fast food joints. There's too much sugar, soft drinks - full of sugar, many of the meals are overloaded with carbohydrates. It's just not part of a well rounded healthy diet, and unfortunately so many people eat fast food and lots of it - too much of it. Even if fast food was something that was good for you, you're eating too much of it, too much at one sitting, it's just too much food for anyone to consume.
What is wrong with the way we eat in the US?
In the US, we eat for many different reasons and most of them are wrong. We should be eating so that our bodies can function properly. But instead, we eat for the wrong reasons. We eat out of emotion; we eat because it is social thing to do. We get together for parties, for dinner with friends, after a baseball game. We celebrate everything associated to food. And not thinking that the real reason we need to eat so that our bodies can function properly. We are like a car. We need gasoline to run. We need food to run properly, so that we get through the day.
How does high fructose corn syrup affect my health after 35?
High fructose corn syrup is not very good for you. It acts more like a fat than a sugar, so you should avoid this at all costs. Take a look at the back of whatever you're eating, look at the ingredients and see if it has high fructose corn syrup and if it does, avoid it if you can.
Is it OK to skip meals after 35?
It's not a great idea to skip meals. What happens is you're shocking your body and then eventually what's going to happen is you're going to overeat to make up for that, but your body reacts in different ways also. You'll end up storing fat because your body thinks you're not going to get food. It doesn't know when it's going to get food again. So tried to avoid skipping meals. In contrary, eat many meals, just eat small ones. If you don't eat healthy food, you're going to crash at some point during the day. You're not going to have the energy. You're not going to feel good. So what do you want to do? You want to feel good? You want to feel bad?
Should I avoid drinking liquids while I eat?
You should definitely avoid drinking fluids while you are eating. One is it will allow you to chew your food better. You'll feel satisfied sooner and your overall health will improve. Water is essential to your overall health, you need water in your diet.
Is it better to drink tea or coffee?
I think it's better to drink tea, although I don't think it's the end of the world, if you enjoy coffee, to drink coffee. I just wouldn't drink so much. If you can replace the coffee you're drinking with tea I would do that. There are studies that coffee isn't the greatest thing for you. There are other studies that say tea is good for you because of the antioxidants. So I think the idea is moderation just like in anything else. You don't want to drink a ton of coffee. If you had to choose between the two I'd say drink more tea. It's going to be better for you.
Why should I eat more healthful food after I pass 35?
You should eat more healthful food if you want to have the energy to get you through the day. If you don't eat healthful food you're going to crash at some stage during the day due to your lack of heavy energy which creates an inability to feel good. A good meal of fruit and vegetables for a normal person during the day is about half of your lunch and dinner, but at least half your meal should be made up of fruit and vegetables.
