If you need help out of hours, the first thing to do is to ring your own G.P. surgery, but have a paper and pen to hand, because you will be given an answer phone message, which will give you the number of how to contact the out of hours services. The other thing you can do is contact NHS direct; they can give you advice over the phone, but the other thing they will also be able to do is tell you how to contact the out of hours service in your area.
