TJ McClearin (Business Manager, Infinity Wireless, LLC) gives expert video advice on: How long will the battery last on my PDA? and more...
What is a "personal digital assistant" (PDA)?
A personal digital assistant is a electronic version of a daily planner. It allows you to capture thoughts to a memo pad, organise your address book and organise your calendar. Furthermore, using a personal digital assistant you can install third party applications such as expense management systems and car maintenance information programs which allow you to input information tailored to your specific needs.
How long will the battery last on my PDA?
Batteries in most PDAs typically last the user between 1 to 3 days depending on how heavy your usage is. If you using a device that has GPS, the more you use the GPS feature the less your battery life will be. It's really dependent upon what features of the device you're currently using and how long it can accomdate those features.
Are all PDAs equipped to "beam" information?
Not all PDAs are equipped to beam information. Most PDAs, however, have an infrared port because it is a standard that all the Palm devices have infrared ports. However, some other manufacturers that create PDAs don't always use the same technology and try to use different ways to interconnect different devices, so are not necessarily equipped to beam information.
