What is light therapy hair removal?
Light therapy hair removal is a treatment whereby light is used to actually cauterize the hair follicle. It is applied directly to the skin or to the area that is being treated. It consists of about three different wavelengths of light. Light therapy is totally non-invasive, pain free and a very pleasant treatment to have.

What happens when you undergo light treatment?
Before light treatment, the client has to remove the hair in the area prior to coming in, or we can shave it here for them. A plant-based liquid is applied to the area three times prior to treatment. The light is then put over it. There's a photochemical reaction between the light and the liquid, which releases enzymes into the follicle. It's the enzymes that will then help to cauterize the follicle. Light treatments are usually every three weeks.
How long does it take until it's effective?
It varies from person to person. A lot is dependent on the hormones, and genetic factors come into play. Also, how long light treatment lasts depends on what the client has done to the hair to remove the hair, prior to coming in. If there's no hormonal imbalance, most people, by their seventh or eighth treatment, will see between fifty and sixty percent reduction in hair growth. After that, obviously, the more light treatments you've had, the better your result.
Which areas of the body does it suit?
Light treatment suits all areas of the body; you can do it on any part of the body.
What skin types does it suit?
Light treatment suits all skin types because it's not a heat based treatment. It's not restricted in any way with regard to the skin type it can work on. Any skin type will respond to treatment.
How long will it last?
Light treatment is permanent reduction. Once the hair has stopped growing, provided there is no hormonal imbalance, it is permanent. The hair won't come back.
Is it good value for money?
Light treatment is good value for money, because when you think about it, if you have any temporary method of hair removal for a number of years, the time and the money spent on any kind of permanent hair removal method or permanent hair reduction method is always going to be good value for money.
