Permanent Make-Up Eyes

Tracey Simpson (Director, Natural Enhancement Permanent Cosmetics) gives expert video advice on: Will it look natural?; Is it dangerous?; Can I wear make-up over the top? and more...

What make up can you apply to the eyes?

Permanent eye makeup can be applied to the upper eyelid and also the lower eyelid. It can be applied through the eyelashes to make them look thicker - that would be termed as an eyelash enhancement - or you can have it as an eyeliner effect, from a finer eyeliner, to a thick, finally to the ultra-thick.

Will it look natural?

Permanent eye makeup can look natural if you want a discreet enhancement, but if you want a more dramatic look or a makeup look, that can also be achieved.

Is it dangerous?

People are naturally apprehensive about having permanent make-up applied to the eyes, but as long as you go to an experienced, qualified technician, there's no danger.

How long does it take?

Generally, a procedure will take approximately one hour and a half. One month later, you would return and we would schedule a 45-minute session. That just allows us to perfect it for you.

How long does it last?

Permanent makeup will last possibly for a number of years. It's really dependent on many variables, but the most significant one is the colors that you use. For instance, on a pale eyebrow you're going to use a blonde, and that's going to fade a lot faster, for instance, than a black eyeliner.

Can I wear make-up over the top?

Yes, you can wear conventional make-up over the top of permanent eye make-up, especially if you want to change the look.

Who would benefit from getting their eyes done?

Those who would benefit from having permanent eye make up would be those with no or sparse eyelashes, those who want to make their eyelashes look thicker, those clients with sensitivities to conventional make up, those clients with watery eyes, and those clients with contact sensitivities as well.
