Perming Your Hair
Robert Steinken (Celebrity Hairstylist) gives expert video advice on: What are the types of perms?; Are there tricks to achieving a good home perm?; How can I keep my perm from turning into an 80's flashback?
What are the types of perms?
It's just that perming is... they don't do it so much. Although actually I did one a couple of weeks ago and I hadn't done one in fifteen years. I know they still exist. When it comes to perming your hair, you have a lot of different options. You can go with a smaller rod size, and therefore, you get more of an afro, a very curly effect. If you use a larger rod size, you're going to get a softer kind of wave, a little bit less frizzy looking. There's a lot of different perms out there. I would definitely say if you're going to perm your hair, go to a professional. You're dealing with a chemical you do not want to leave it on your hair too long. If you are going to do this yourself at home, one good tip is do not put the solution on your hair while you're rolling it. Wait until all the rods are in the little rollers and then put the chemical on.

Very cool! Thank you. I just got my hair straight persms! Lets see how it turns out. So far it's flat and I'm in the process of waiting for the 72 hours after perm to be done with so I could wash it lol :P prom this Friday!! =)
