What is scabies?
Scabies is an infection caused by a microscopic mite, which burrows and lays its eggs underneath the skin.
How is scabies contracted?
Scabies is contracted through any form of close physical contact. Scabies is not necessarily sexually transmitted.
What are the long term effects of scabies?
There's no significant health risk, but if left untreated, the scabies infestation and itching will become worse and worse.
