Student Life: How To Report A Sexual Assault
Michael Dorn and Sonayia Shepherd (School Safety Analysts) gives expert video advice on: How should I report a sexual assault?
How should I report a sexual assault?
If you're sexually assaulted, I would recommend that you quickly report it to the appropriate police officials. If it's on campus, notify University police or University safety officials. If you're off of campus, dial 911 or call local police by other means and tell them what has happened, and follow their instructions. Don't wash yourself or clean up - talk to police before you do anything like that. Prompt notification is very important. In some cases it may be important for your very safety, but it definitely will help in increasing the likelihood that an offender is caught and getting you other types of support and assistance that you will need.
