Temporary And Job Placement Agencies
What is a "temporary agency"?
A temporary employment agency is a licensed and bonded agency that is geared toward filling short-term assignments; anything from a day to a few weeks. Sometimes they fill positions during maternity leaves and that sort of thing. Most of the time those temporary positions are in the administrative, manual labor or sometimes healthcare -- those different types of clerical and office positions.
What is a "placement agency"?
A full service placement agency place long-term, permanent employees into positions. So, unlike temporary agencies, where the assignments are short term, a full service employment agency is looking to place people for the long-term permanent positions. Those can range in terms of different types of careers; everything from accounting and finance, to healthcare, executive marketing, management, clerical, you name it. So if you are looking for employment, it's certainly not a bad idea to contact employment agencies, get your resume to them, and it's another great tool, another great strategy in terms of your job search.
How do I find the right temp or placement agency for me?
