What details will I have to give about my education?
With regards to details about your education for university applications, you will need to put as much information as you can on previous qualifications and qualifications you are currently doing. This includes entering educational details including dates when you have completed qualifications or dates to when they will be completed. If you have attended a summer school it is advisable to enter all details of those summer schools so that the university can use this information for their selection purposes.
What is a personal statement?
A personal statement is where the student will advise on why they want to do a particular course. It is used by universities to assess whether or not the applicant has enough experience and has identified why they want to do a particular higher education course. It's best for anyone applying to university to include as much information as possible on their personal statement about their interests and hobbies, and why they would like to study a particular course. The personal statement sells the application to the university.
What information should I include in a personal statement?
The information needed in a personal statement for a university application should include wherever possible: why you've selected a particular subject, or a particular university. You may also wish to include in your personal statement information on any hobbies, interests, or career aspirations. When dealing with the university application there is full information and guidance on the section which will assist you with other information you could include in your personal statement.
How long should my personal statement be?
When filling out a university application, the length of the personal statement should be at least 47 lines and should not exceed 4,000 characters. When you come to save your personal statement online, there will be a word and line count to assist you with the length of the personal statement, showing whether or not the personal statement is too long.
How much does the application cost?
The UCAS application fee is £5 if you put one course or university choice, £15 if you put up to six course or university choices.
