Do you believe the government covers up evidence of UFO's?
I'm highly suspicious our government does and possibly other governments. First of all, each government would want to be the first to retrieve a downed UFO, so perhaps our government, as one example, might try to dismiss the idea that they're legitimate, while all the time endeavoring to find one that's crashed or downing one, because then they could try to reverse engineer the craft, learn its secrets of alien technology, and apply them to weapons and other methods of modern technology, and so they certainly would have that reason. There's the classic idea that they're afraid the populace would panic if they realized that there was a UFO in our midst, but I think, although with Orson Welles and his rendition of the radio of War of the Worlds back in the '30's, that people today are more open to the idea that we're not alone in the universe. Recent polls showed 36 % believe in UFO's. That's a common figure in one poll after another - that at least a third of the populace believes in them and I don't think the other two-thirds if a UFO landed would go into panic. - And then there's also the idea that governments might fear UFO's and aliens coming to Earth and spreading a new philosophy that might say we shouldn't have separate governments. We should actually live in peace around the world. The philosophy might threaten existing governments. So there are many reasons why we have a conspiracy against UFO's.
Why do you think the government hides the existence of UFO's?
The government hiding the existence of UFO's, because again they are trying to reverse engineer them, and develop the secrets of alien technology. Now Lieutenant Kernel Phillip Corso claimed in his book 'The Day After Roswell', that all of our modern technology evolved from one or more downed UFO's that were indeed reverse engineered. Everything we have from computers to lasers, beyond that, came from that alien technology. But of course skeptics say that was simply an outgrowth of our research during World War II, trying to develop the atomic bomb. And then we have these other bonuses because of that increased technology. But Corso and others have said that we've derived it from alien technology. And some others have said that we've been in concert with other ET's that have landed and they're sharing our technology with us in exchange for other considerations.
At what level do you think government officials are told the truth about UFO's?
When President Clinton took office he said he would actually open up the UFO files, but he never really did, although the Clinton Library has just released some UFO reports. It's certainly possible that the presidents could be kept from information regarding UFO's, as well as other topics. We have a very complex government: CIA, FBI, other organizations. Each individual heading those groups could decide to keep pertinent information from the presidents. The president may not have access to all that information.
What do you think happened at Roswell?
Roswell is one of the interesting cases of 1947. Possibly on July 6th a UFO crashed near Roswell, New Mexico, and we have a number of reports that a craft was recovered, possibly up to four alien bodies. Of course, we don't have absolute proof, but what impresses me most about that case was immediately after that crash the Army Air Force, they were linked at that time, issued a report by Walter Haut who was their information officer, that said a UFO had crashed and was recovered. For the first three hours that was the story released to the press. Then apparently the cover up began and they said it was something else, it was a downed weather balloon or something that was not a UFO. But that initial report where no one was censoring it makes me think that something did indeed happen there.
What do you think happens at Area 51?
I actually visited Area 51 in 2005 for their fiftieth anniversary and I can tell you first of all it's vast and you could have ten downed UFOs being studied there. Never got into the Area the 51. They actually, as you may have heard in the press, have security all over. While I was interviewing individuals, both those who believe in a conspiracy involving it and those who are skeptics are being presented very cogently, we were being watched the whole time from the mountain tops by the security officers. So it's certainly conceivable that one or more downed UFOs could be reversed engineered at Area 51. If the government wanted to end the rumors about it, and prove that there are no downed UFOs there, they could open the gates and invite the world press in to see it. But they are not doing that. They are keeping it totally secret. So it's certainly conceivable that we have downed UFOs there.
Who are some famous people who've seen UFO's?
Well many famous people have seen UFO's, including President Reagan and President Jimmy Carter. And then of course we have various celebrities, including David Duchovny, from X-Files. And I personally saw one UFO a couple of years ago, a diamond-shaped object, only briefly in the sky, but that's one of the types that's reported. First of course you have sausage-shaped objects, cigar-shaped objects, but then third would probably be diamond-shaped objects, and though I only saw it briefly and the fellow beside me did not see it, I feel it was a possible UFO.
