What are some qualities that make a cartoon based on a video game successful?

The quality that makes a cartoon based on a video game successful is having enough character to be able to sustain a plot for several episodes; being able to take enough out of a game in order to create enough of something that will last several seasons. You have a lot of video games that are epic. There are Final Fantasy games that are hours and hours and hours, then you have a game that is three or four, eight or ten hours. How do you make an entire season, or two or three, out of that? The best example is probably Pokemon. It was a TV show first in the US, but it was a game first in Japan. So, a lot of the success in the United States was tied to the television show, and it was probably the most successful one.

What are some influential cartoons based on video games?

Obviously 'Pokemon' is probably the most influential cartoon based on a video game. Secondarily, 'Sonic the Hedgehog' was always big; partially because the games were so big. There was also 'The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!', and that had a lot of popularity at the time. However, in terms of the most successful, most influential cartoon based on a video game, I'd say Pokemon.

What are some of the best cartoons and animated features based on video games?

I would say "Final Fantasy" is one of the best animated features based on a video game in terms of animation, and then for the best cartoon, "Pokemon" or "The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!" were really kind of the highlights of that. There were so many other games that got animated. So many of them were just so flat, so standard cartoon fare. I think those really stood out.

What are some of the best video games based on cartoons and animated features?

Some of the most notable games have been based on animated features. The Simpson's Hit and Run was a really fun game. Also, the Naruto games are very popular. It's a very popular TV show. A lot of those games are really fun; they make great fighting games. There's actually a whole variety of them. I would also say that Aladdin, Toy Story, and a lot of the Disney games are great and were really wonderful on the Genesis, and I think they still hold up.
