Andrea and Sarah show you how to make a skillet cookie with chocolate chips. Serve this giant sweet treat with vanilla ice cream while still warm. Delicious!
110 g unsalted butter
110 g granulated sugar
85 g light brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 free range egg
180 g plain flour
1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
Pinch of salt
180 g dark chocolate, chopped
Vanilla ice cream, to serve
STEP 1: MELT THE BUTTER AND SUGAR
In an 8 inch skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the sugars and vanilla. Remove from heat and leave for about five minutes until slightly cool.
STEP 2: ADD THE EGG, FLOUR AND CHOCOLATE CHIPS
Whisk the egg into the mixture, then add the flour, bicarbonate soda and salt. Mix well until combined, then fold in the chocolate chips.
STEP 3: BAKE
Bake in the oven for 20-25 mins, or until the top and edges are golden brown.
STEP 4: SERVE
Scoop ice cream on top to serve.
