Shelbi Wilson

USEX0072 Expert Teacher, Lincoln High School, Riverside, CA Shelbi Wilson is one of the most popular teachers at Lincoln High School in Riverside, CA. She has received numerous awards for her teaching accomplishments, including being named California Teacher of the Year in 2006. While her classes are often made up of students with histories of poverty, defiance and low attendance, Shelbi Wilson vows to teach them “as if they were the smartest, richest, most capable advanced placement class in the world." In doing so, many of her students rise to levels of performance of which they didn’t know they were capable. When not teaching English, History and Health, Wilson is a strong advocate for school funding, making appearances throughout California to support education legislation.
