In 1999, the tragic murder of her boyfriend, Barry Winchell, led Calpernia to become an activist, speaking out about transgender issues. Calpernia co-founded Deep Stealth Productions, and consulted on the award-winning fim “TransAmerica.” She stars in the new reality dating show, Transamerican Love Story, on Logo.
