Careers: Shoe Designer

Signs of an entrepreneurial spirit were demonstrated in Mr. Madden at a young age. After attending the University of Miami, he began his career as a stock clerk in a fashion shoe store on Long Island. He soon became a shoe salesman and taught himself the fundamentals of design, marketing, and retail. It was at that point he was given the freedom to pursue his calling and become intimately involved in all aspects of shoe design, production and presentatiion.
