But what do you need to do? And how do you do it? And, another important factor, how much will it cost you? Restraints for pets in vehicles is something to look into, and this film can help, whether you have a large dog or a small cat, a pick up truck, or a two door coup. Mitch Wilder, pet specialist, takes us through the choices.

A thirty pound dog, when thrown in an accident at thirty miles an hour can create an incredible amount of force, killing the pet and possibly injuring the passengers of the vehicle. Also, if you get in an accident because your pet was unrestrained and caused you to crash, you can be held liable for negligence, a very frightening thing indeed. This video will show you the importance of restraining your pet in the car and how to do it.

Puppy-Proofing

What do you need to do about your new puppy or kitty and your home? Pet-proof it! Be sure there are no paper clips, tacks, pins, or rubber bands around. Be sure that there are no pills that a puppy or kitten could get into. Leashes should not be worn in the home. There are now breakaway collars available. Keep in mind the plants around your home too. Lilies are toxic and cactus is never a good idea in a home with a mobile pet. A few more tips are: installing a baby gate near stairs, putting table edge guards on sharp points of furniture, and to shuffle your feet when walking. Be sure to watch this film for more tips.
