Gibraltar

Gibraltar is a British overseas territory located near the southernmost tip of the Iberian Peninsula overlooking the Strait of Gibraltar. The territory is surrounded on three sides by Spain, who actually claim sovereignty over the territory. And it’s this historic clash between Gibraltar as a fiercely British territory, and the claims of the Spanish, that has made the national day so important.
