I suffer from sleep paralyis regulary, i first excperenced it at 13 i'm 22 now so i'v suffered it for 9 years now. I found alot of helpful information on the internet. It is a very daunting excperiance expecally the first time. I always experiance it when i'm falling asleep, i can have 4 eposodes in 1 night 1 after the other it can last from a few min's to an hour, I have it at least 1 a week. i'v had all the experiances, of feeling suffacated, loud ringing in my ears like my head is going to explode, outer body, presence in the room, being totally aware of my surroundings and see everything in the room around me, and all these times i'v been unable to move or call out, if someone comes in the room when i'm in this state and they don't wake me up, i can tell them when i do wake up everything that they said, what they done, and what they were wearing at the time, and i'v been told that i don't even open my eyes phyisically. It is scary but after suffering for so long i try ro control it, now when i'm in this state, instead of getting scared of the presence in the room i try to convince myself that it is my husband, it works sometimes. When i feel sufucated i move my eyes very fast to try and wake mysef up, and if it;s an outer body one i just go with it and try to enjoy the feeling of being able to leave my body. I feel that if you are in this state you must remind yourself that it's not real, it's not real you are dreaming but awake. It's very normal so i'v read and at least 80% of the population of the world experiance it at least once in their life, unfortunatly there are people like me who experiance it more often that we would like. I would say read more about it, educate yourself about it, because people can feel like they have lost their mind and are going insane and that they are the only people in the world to experiance it. There is a lot of intresting folk lore about it.
Good luck and take care
