Aubrey de Grey is great! I strongly recommend his writings at http://www.kurzweilai.net in the "big thinkers" section Also of interest is the book "Fantastic Voyage: Live Long Enough to Live Forever" by Ray Kurzweil and Terry Grossman

Jurors are typically "exempted" by the prosecution if they show any sign of intelligence or capacity for critical thought. Seriously. People have actually been dismissed because they read "US News and World Report" instead of "Reader's Digest". There is no more 6th amendment in the USA, because "common law" is not defined in the Constitution. Unfortunately, the US Constitution doesn't include a copy of Black's Law Dictionary, and this allows judges and prosecutors to get away with unimaginable evil.

This is a good overview for people who have been summoned for jury duty. Mentioning that you are a member of the "Fully Informed Jury Association", and that you know you have a right to vote "not guilty" (even based on your personal disagreement with the law), allows you to painlessly get out of jury duty. If you mention these things, and the judge says you still must serve, then by all means, exercise your right to piss off the judge and prosecution, and vote "not guilty" (no matter what). (Of course, that won't happen, since the judge, prosecutor, and police all are getting government paychecks --funded by your taxes-- and they all agree that with the prosecution. After all, the more people they punish, the more power and money they get.)

I strongly suggest that people support a presidential candidate in the coming election that wants a fully-informed jury amendment that would force every judge in America to inform the jury of their right to acquit. http://www.rootforamerica.com A FIJ Amendment would also make voir dire illegal. If we reinstate the practice of informing the jury of their right to veto bad laws, and thus prevent unjust punishments, we thereby protect every individual right. http://isil.org/resources/lit/history-jury-null.html http://isil.org/resources/lit/new-hope-fija.html

There's only one pro-gun candidate in the 2008 election, and that's Wayne Allyn Root: http://www.rootforamerica.com Wayne is a member of Gun Owners of America, http://www.gunowners.org and Jews For the Preservation of Firearms Ownership http://www.jpfo.org + http://www.innocentsbetrayed.com John McCain voted for the "McCain-Lieberman Act" a law that would have eliminated gun shows (free trade in guns). McCain is also an avowed sympathizer with gun restrictions, and favors ATF raids on innocent, gun owning americans. Obama favors racist anti-minority gun restrictions that deprive inner-city residents of their right to self-defense (He says so in his book, "The Audacity of Hope" pg. 215). I guess Obama wants the same thing the KKK wants: blacks sent to jail for owning guns that are made legal for whites who live across the street. Unequal enforcement of anti-property laws! And Clinton is even worse than Obama, a lifelong gun-banner. Of course, McCain would do the worst damage to gun rights, since his fellow "Republicans" will vote for whatever gun control he wants to pass, whereas at least one major party of opportunist slime will fight Obama or Clinton's big plans to build the American gulag.
